During our Places Royales tour you can discover the Opéra Garnier, built during Napoleon III’s reign and one of the jewels of the capital, as well as the Place Vendôme with its beautiful seventeenth century architecture. Follow the Seine River in front of the Conciergerie (the ancient seat of Kings), the Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Île-Saint-Louis: a stopover at one of the capitals’ best ice cream parlors, hidden, since 1961, in a shop on Île-Saint-Louis! And then on to the oldest square in Paris, the stunning Place des Vosges. Across the bridge to the Left Bank, the Latin Quarter, old Paris built on the Gallo-Roman site of Lutèce. Place Dauphine, dating from the seventeenth century is one of the most romantic squares in Paris. Discover the Invalides and the final resting place of Napoléon and France’s other great men, the Panthéon. On to the Luxembourg Gardens created, at the request of Marie de Médicis, in 1612.
Ah, Saint-Germain-des-Prés with its breathtaking architecture! The whole district is overflowing with art design and galleries. Be transported back in time to Café de Flore, the world famous haunt of great writers and jazzmen. Passing by the front of Orsay, the Museum of Modern Art, to the Place de la Concorde with its majestic Egyptian obelisc, and then down the Champs-Elysées, the Arc de Triomphe and the Grand and Petit Palais, the beautiful remnants of the Universal Exhibition in 1900. And finaly, to the Trocadéro, to finish with a promenade on foot to discover the Eiffel Tower.
